Our knowledge of institutional investors and family offices then enables us to advise our clients how to best position and present themselves to various types of potential allocators.
Reflecting the dynamic nature of institutional investor portfolio allocations, we are essentially agnostic about the fund strategies or single transactions we will represent. We work with a wide variety of GPs and independent sponsors, but we have a core set of guiding principles:
CREDIBILITY WITH BOTH GPs AND LPs IS OUR BIGGEST ASSET
Credibility is key to long-term success for us and our client sponsors. From long experience, investors recognize that we are highly selective about which clients we represent. We earn further investor credibility by being consistently respectful of their time and decisions. We earn trust from our sponsor clients with our insights, work ethic and our methodical process for marketing their funds and transactions.
We seek to build long-term relationships with our sponsor clients. Integrity, performance, reputation, respect and credibility are key. If a potential sponsor client is not ready for the institutional market, we will constructively tell them what elements need to be in place before we would undertake an assignment.
We seek out GPs and independent sponsors pursuing “in demand” investment strategies and transactions that investors will likely view favorably during the engagement period. Our forward-looking, disciplined fundraising tactics then maximize the likelihood of a successful engagement. We help position independent sponsors to raise their first fund, and established GPs to broaden their investor base for their next commingled fund.
GIVE FULL ATTENTION TO EACH CLIENT
Each client gets senior-level resources from us. We keep our clients fully informed and updated throughout the engagement. We do not take on engagements that detract from giving due attention to each client. We do not simultaneously represent competing strategies or deals without client consent.
